Meet the team

Since 2006, Kristen Sorondo has been honored to serve many Central Florida families as a Registered Nurse, Lactation Consultant and provider of general postpartum support and night nursing. Orlando Lactation has since grown to include an entire staff of skilled Registered Nurses to add Newborn Services to our offerings (and to our name!).

In 2023 we further expanded by adding Placenta Encapsulation services. A true dream team for new parents!

Collectively representing over 200 years of nursing experience!

Created by a nurse with a team of nurses behind her.

Ways to Work Together

Learn more

Placenta Encapsulation is the practice of having your placenta dehydrated, ground into a powder, and encapsulated for you to take as a supplement during your postpartum period.

Taking these capsules can help balance your hormones, leading to a smoother healing process and transition into motherhood. Benefits may include a decreased risk of postpartum mood disorders, increased milk production, and improved energy levels.

Focused on helping parents get some much-needed rest, our night nursing team will tend to baby while you sleep through the night.

Although our night nurses are not sleep trainers, we can help with establishing good sleep habits by observing sleep patterns and making appropriate suggestions. Your baby’s nurse will stay with your baby at all times – safety is our top priority.

"As a medical provider myself with my own practice, I don’t trust my medical care to just
anyone. Hiring Kristen was the best decision I made when finding my support team tohave my daughter. She is kind (which you need desperately after giving birth), follows upregularly (you’ll forget to respond to messages all the time with a newborn), and is insanely knowledgeable. I cannot sing her praises enough. She also has a great team on hand for additional services like night nursing. The sleep consultant came to help us one night and it was so nice to have someone so competent (NICU nurse) to tend to her as we had a scare in the hospital and felt we couldn’t leave her with someone without medical training for a few weeks. 10/10 - you absolutely need Kristen in your life."

"During the first year of our baby’s life, Kristen and her team became our tribe and, for that, we will forever be grateful. The services we utilized included lactation support, night nursing, and sleep training for our baby, and I can’t recommend each service highly enough. The lactation support was invaluable in addressing challenges I faced early on, and Kristen’s guidance and reassurance made a world of difference. Kristen is incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating. She helped me feel more knowledgeable and confident as a parent, and she truly cared about our entire family’s wellbeing. Being able to text her to ask questions was a game changer! When my husband had to travel for work during the newborn era, the night nursing service gave me much-needed rest and peace of mind knowing our baby was in expert hands. Later on in the year, the sleep training process with Bri absolutely changed our lives for the better. Our baby girl is thriving and getting restful, restorative, independent sleep!"

"Our breastfeeding journey started out with so many struggles until our pediatrician recommended Kristen. I had an extremely low supply, our newborn son had oral motor issues (which Kristen recognized immediately and got us further help to address them), and he was also not gaining weight properly. With Kristen’s help creating a plan, he is now fully on track and thriving! She truly cares about her clients and constantly checks in to answer questions and offer support. I never thought I would have a freezer stash of breast milk, but with Kristen’s encouragement I am able to truly experience the reward of successful breastfeeding."

"Orlando Lactation and Newborn Services was the family and support that I didn't know I needed. My husband and I had our first child while I was active duty and not near family. We thought we could do the same with our second, but when a close family friend gifted us a Night Nurse, my postpartum journey no longer seemed so daunting. Kristen and her team are amazing! They take the time to listen to your needs and requests. They come to your home to meet you and your family prior to rendering services and they just overall make this period not only doable, but dare I say enjoyable. Cindy and Maria were our night nurses and did wonderfully. I never felt like my needs weren't met and the anxiety of having a newborn (and a toddler) while recovering was erased. I would hire them again and again and again AND likely for a longer period of time. Well worth the money!"

"We don't know how we would have gotten through the first three months with our baby boy without Kristen and her team of amazing night nurses! After my wife experienced birth complications and a traumatic delivery, we needed help to ensure she could rest and recover...We felt so comfortable knowing our baby was with a highly qualified RN all night and we were able to get rest, which helped expedite my wife’s healing process tremendously. Being new parents, we also learned so much from all of the nurses - Mandy, Sarah and Casey cared for our baby like he was their own and offered advice on how much to feed him, how to treat diaper rashes, manage his acid reflux, and more. His reflux made nights challenging but their patience and knowledge helped us establish great sleep habits. By 3 months, our little one was sleeping long stretches alone in his crib and self-soothing through the night!"
